Christmas Boom 2009 - Manchester Nawab 

Manchester UK: Peace and Unity as paramount objective, KCA UK held the Christmas celebration, which is popularly known as  Christmas Boom for the third successive year on December 26, 2009. The event was held at St. Margaret Hall Burnage Manchester. There were 38 families around the United Kingdom from different communities participated in this fun filled evening.

The event was kicked off with the marching of KCA UK members dressed in kids favourite characters to stage, excitements were high when clown pull the huge gift box on stage and Santa Clause emerged out from the box. All families walked inside the hall. Santa, Bare and Clown lead this march, which was followed by Kids dance, Carol Singing, prizes to kids. Ravi Pinto as Santa, Stany Mendonca dressed as Clown, Santhosh Sequiera as Bare along with some outstanding music from DJ Ronald Lobo gave a thrilling start to the event. Most of the kids were on Santa Clause Dress, which gave an extra flavour to the event.

KCA UK President Santhosh Pinto opened the Champagne and let the participants know that the bar is open. Highlight of the bar section was the Cock tails and Mock tails prepared by well-known Ravi Edward. The promising upcoming talent of Manchester little Famina Solomon performed Indian classical dance Bharatanatyam on stage. Pick and Grab, Games for the couples were performed during this time. Winners were honoured with the prizes. Christmas play was performed in a Mangalorean Konkani Style (Natalancho Khel), in which KCA UK members dressed like hunters, old man, Joker were on stage, a typical Mangalorean local music was used to dance on the floor. During this session KCA UK ensured that their sponsors, well-wishers were brought to stage and danced together and showed their gratitude. 

In the vote of thanks, KCA UK vice president Santhosh Sequeira offered his sincere thanks to the sponsors Marina Monis Warrington, Laveena Castelino- Manchester, Manoj Udesi  Manchester, Alwyn Buthello & family Manchester, Pramod Kedia & family Manchester, Anitha DSilva & Family Birmingham, he also recognised the hard work done by Stany Rodrigues & Family Manchester, Martin Saldanha & Family Manchester, Sujith Rodrigues & family and Ajimol Pradeep & family to make the event successful.

Delicious dinner was served at exactly 9.00 P.M. as promised. In the late hour of the event, the whole crowd was engaged in the nonstop dance, which was well supported by DJ Ronald Lobo. Just before closing of the event prise draw was carried out, the family of day prise went Mr. Benedict Barboza  Bristol. Charlotte Barboza and Diana Lobo Manchester honoured the winner. First Christmas Hamper was won by Mrs. Renny Buthello  Manchester. Stany and Jyothi Mendonca Sunderland were asked to honour the winners. The final hamper prize won by Sunil Magnani of Manchester, Priya Monis and Lainet Pinto gave this prize to the winner.      

KCA UK a well-known Konkani Community Association of North of England, planned and executed this event in a different sequence compared to the traditional stage event to enhance the entertainment level and bring awareness of community cohesion. The event was compeered by Vinod Barboza
