Spiritual Retreat in Manchester
Manchester: On March 31, 2023, Konkani Cultural Association – UK (KCA-UK) managed the Spiritual Retreat at St. Bernard’s R C Church, Burnage Lane Manchester. The retreat was conducted by Br. Prakash D’Souza - Divine Mercy Konkani Charismatic Group Bandra East-Mumbai.
Br. Prakash D’Souza was on UK tour, which was basically organised by St. Patrick’s Konkani Prayer Group – Neasden -London and SKA (South Kanara Association) – London.
The three-hour retreat started at 6.00pm with rosary conducted by Stany Rodrigues, followed by welcome from KCA-UK President Marina Monis. The retreat was in Konkani, however the same was translated to English by Br. Royson Castalino. The spiritual retreat consists of preaching, special prayers for families, kids and sick along with testimony. The final hour of the retreat was dedicated to the adoration of blessed sacrament, which was supported by Fr. Joseph - parish priest from St. Bernard’s R C Church Manchester.
Provision was made to offer donations and petitions for all the participants.
There were around 200 people from the north west of England attended this spiritual retreat. In the holy season of lent, this retreat gave the opportunity to spend time in prayer and contemplation, and renews one’s relationship with God. It also provided the chance to clearly hear God’s call, seek God’s healing grace and thereby attain a degree of spiritual renewal.
KCA UK children and youngsters actively participated in the liturgy, especially in the choir singing English, Konkani, and Hindi hymns, which was led by Sujith Rodrigues.
KCA UK members worked sincerely towards the effective arrangements of this event, on completion of the retreat, Stany Rodrigues sincerely thanked all the people who involved in this religious event.
