Kevin Misquith Live in Concert - London 2017

South Kanara Association London (SKA) and Konkani Cultural Association United Kingdom (KCAUK) organised Kevin Misquith's live musical concert at Harrow Art Centre in London on October 22. The day perceived another propitious day in the life of Konkani speaking people based in the United Kingdom. Kevin Misquith rocked at his 46th Konkani musical concert along with his team members, cajoling the spectators. To witness this musical show; the audience gathered from all over the UK along with other associations namely MUKA, KKL, UK Konkan’s and the Konkani prayer group. Their incessant assistance to make the event an efficacious one, concluded with the entire show being houseful. Breakfast was served by the associations’ team members to all the guests’ preceding to the commencement of the concert. The show started at 1 pm and perceived a perfect blend of old and new genre music along with amusement and dance performances. NRI businessman and well-known philanthropist Ronald Colaco, was the chief guest for the event. Other guests of honour comprised of Austin Prabhu, Elias Sanctis, Sr Irene Jane, and Joseph Mathias. They were invited to the podium by Joseph Sequeira who compered the preliminary part of the event. The guests were escorted to the dais by the presidents of the association - Santosh Pinto of KCAUK and Sunil D'Cunha of SKA. The inaugural lamp was then lit by the guests. They appreciated the hard work laid by the team members of both the associations to organise the show. Kevin was accompanied by Morvine Quadras, Joseph Mathias, Vanessa Saldhana, Ashwin Sequeira, Wilfred Fernandes, Ancita D’Souza as singers. Jackson Noronha on lead keyboard directed the music and was accompanied by Charles Jones with base guitar, Dr Kiran Joseph on lead guitar, Ganesh Kumble with percussion; Amit Wallia with rytham pad, Mukesh Kannan on keyboard, Sujith Rodrigus with acoustic guitar and Ashwin Sequeira with guitar added more melody to the tunes. Comedians named as ‘Pirki Porbuls’ comprising of John Fernandes, Pius Rashquinha, Ronald Lobo, Ravi Pinto, Stany Sequeira, Stany Rodrigus, and Vinod Barboza, tickled the audiences with their rib-tickling act of comedy. The beguiling dance recitals were presented by the ‘Desi nach team’. Kevin Misquith was felicitated by the presidents of both the associations and the music CD of Kevin Misquith’s ‘Kenna Kenna’ was released during the concert by Ronald Colaco. Sheldon Crasta compered rest of the event. The colourful musical event concluded at 6 pm followed by the dinner. The proceeds from the show will be donated to St Joseph's Prashanth Nivas, Nelyadi in Mangaluru.
